Geniş Açı - From the Magazine to the Project Office

'Geniş Açı – From the Magazine to the Project Office' brought together 'Visual Narratives: European Borderlines', a project previously realised by GAPO but never before exhibited in Istanbul, a projection of 'Young Photography from Türkiye', and an expanded version of 'Mahalle', which had previously been presented only at cultural centres on the outskirts of Istanbul. Together, these projects offered an overview of more than twenty years of work by the GAPO team.

A large section of the exhibition space was transformed into a reading area bringing together all issues of Geniş Açı Photography Magazine, publications produced as part of GAPO’s various projects and workshops, texts written by the GAPO team for publications in Türkiye and abroad, and posters, print materials, and photographs documenting GAPO’s activities. Over the three weeks that the exhibition remained open, a programme of talks and presentations in different formats created opportunities for discussion and exchange around photography. Exhibition tours were also organised for students from various universities and high schools.
