'Living Space, Lived Space', organised by GAPO and SALT, took place between December 2017 and January 2018 as a seven-session programme with 16 participants. In the opening sessions, Ali Taptık examined the interaction between architecture and photography from the 19th century to the present, while Sena Özfiliz focused on alternative approaches to architectural photography in a presentation addressing the documentation of architectural spaces throughout their life cycles.

The programme also featured a series of presentations open to the public. Ayfer Bartu Candan explored the relationship between the built environment and identity formation, spaces that conceal or overwrite other histories, the spatial segregation of social inequalities, gecekondu transformation projects, and collective memory, approaching these questions through the issue of representation and the relationship between sociology, social anthropology, and photography. Umut Şumnu began his presentation by discussing the origins and development of the Civil Architectural Memory and İkramiye Apartments projects, both centred on housing and habitation, before examining the emergence of cooperative apartment buildings alongside social movements and discussing Cinnah 19 as an example from Ankara. Ali Taptık and Sevgi Ortaç also discussed their approaches to the built environment and their respective practices through selected examples from their work.

In the subsequent sessions, participants discussed the projects they planned to develop under the guidance of GAPO. The works produced during the programme were presented to the public at SALT Galata on 3 February 2018.
